Ferma Lane, Great Barrow, Chester

Greysfield is an impressive country house and cottages which was originally commissioned by the owners of the Cunard Shipping Line in Liverpool. Dating from circa 1880 with later additions the property is constructed of brick with black and white half-timbered elevations to the upper floors under a Westmorland slate roof.

In architectural terms Greysfield has much to commend it with stone mullioned and leaded windows, carved stone detailing, open fronted porch with columns, dressed stone steps, half-timbered gables and tall chimneys. The interior is equally impressive with a series of elegant rooms containing decorative plaster ceilings, moulded cornice work, oak bordered floors and panelling. Whilst the house has been sub-divided of late to create a series of self-contained apartments the integrity of the original rooms has not been destroyed and could soon be re-instated.

The site being developed for a private client is being developed into 3 large cottages, 12 luxurious and characterful apartments. All the properties will enjoy the use of the landscaped grounds adjoining the property therefore enjoying the benefits of country living without the worry of maintenance while being within a 15 minute drive of Chester City Centre and Business Parks and 5 minutes from the Motorway Network.
